Exit from Level 5

As we are all well aware, we are exiting Level 5 next Tuesday 1 Dec, with shops, restaurants and other public activities allowed. Today, we know some of what this will mean for us, with more updates expected from the GAA on Monday/Tuesday.

So far, we can announce that our bar with Ruby’s@Fins will start back again from next Friday evening at 6PM.

We will once again operate in the hall and bar providing well more than 2 Metres distance between tables making for a very safe experience. All guidelines on numbers and time limits will be followed.

Booking is essential for upto a max of 6 people.

Opening times next weekend

Friday at 6PM

Saturday at 5PM

Sunday at 3PM

As there are some big matches, especially the Dub’s on Saturday, you will need to move quickly.

Contact Feidhlim @ 6-8.30pm Mon-Fri. next week for bookings.

You must be a member of Fins to book.

Government guidelines on mask wearing and time limits will apply.

Let’s ensure we have a safe reopening of our social activities in Fins.

Bingo

We are hoping that we will be back for Tuesday night Car Park Bingo in the next week or so. Watch Social media. We will announce as soon as we know.

Lotto will be back with Bingo.

GAA National Draw

We have so far had a great response to our now annual National GAA Draw fundraiser. This is ever more critical for us, as we have lost so many of our normal funding sources in 2020. We ask that you make every effort to sell a few tickets wherever you can. Every penny goes into the Club. Purchase through your teams or online at

First Team Hurlers have a new Sponsor

Our First Team Hurlers will be sponsored by Ruby’s for the 2021 season. This partnership deepens the club relationship with Ruby’s who are running a very successful Rubys@Home service from Fins and also partner with us for our food offering. We will be doing an official launch in the coming weeks. Thanks to all at Ruby’s for their support.

A special word of thanks to the Savage Family of renowned JC’s who supported the team for the last 3 years.

Imminent reopening of the Gym

We are hoping that we will be allowed to reopen our club gym for our teams and members in the coming weeks. We are currently adding to our equipment and refreshing the décor for reopening. More details of membership available to all members will be published shortly.

Membership 2021

Membership will open shortly for the 2021 season, allowing you to maybe get an early Christmas present. Full details will be published in the coming days.

Shop Local this Christmas

Please take a breath and think about shopping local for your Christmas purchases. Even the smallest spend kept locally will have a big impact. Many of our members, family and friends run small businesses that need our support.

Fins Coaching Webinar Series next Thursday, 3rd December at 8:30pm

One of the most important things we as coaches can do is to continuously learn, improve and challenge ourselves, pushing our standards of coaching higher and delivering the best we can for our players.
To help develop your coaching skills, the club are organising a series of coach development sessions to take place over the coming months, delivered by experts in their field, which we would encourage each coach to actively participate in.
Every month, a live webinar will be presented by a coach or coach developer, with a Questions and Answers session with the presenter at the end. These sessions are for all coaches in the club, not any particular code or age group; academy, juvenile and adult coaches will all learn and develop from them.
The first of these sessions, Planning effectively Amidst Uncertainty for 2021, is next Thursday, 3rd December at 8:30pm, and will be delivered by Niall Williams, the Coach Education Coordinator for the Camogie Association. An experienced coach, Niall has coached at senior Inter County level in both Hurling and Camogie with the Meath Senior Hurlers, and the Kilkenny Senior Camogie team, and is still playing club hurling himself.
In this session, Niall will look at topics such as:

· What are the factors and considerations to take into account when planning?

· How do you plan for a session, a month and a year?

· What about setting short, medium and long term goals for your players?

· What should your plans look like, and what should be in them?

· Who should be doing the planning, and when?

You can register for the session now at
